I have been looking for an utility to dim the screen for over six months – mainly on night reading. The ones i have tried did not dim enough. Finally, i found one that seems to work.

Screen Adjuster is a free utility from the Android Market.  You can toggle on/off on demand or you can set it to start when the phone starts.  In addition to just dim/brighten the screen, you can also set the RGB individually as well.

With the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note, i began to wonder if there are similar note taking apps like the smemo for the Galaxy S II. I thought the Note is a good size device if someone needs to use it for short note taking. I am unsure however about the stylus. Before i go and buy the Note,  i thought to explore options for the S II.

The S II does not have a S pen, so my  finger will have to do all the editing which i don’t really think possible.  As Mr Jobs said, a phone should not have a stylus.

I came across a couple of plugins for Evernote and that triggers my review here. Skitch is a photo annotation app that can be triggered from Evernote or run as standalone app.

The need here is not a sophisticated photo editing or annotation tool with all kinds of imaginable editing functions, but something just to allow written notes or drawings to be included as part of a larger note.

As it turns out, the app is simple enough, it includes four needed features, a digital pen, shapes, text, arrows. It also allows rectangular crop and multi undo.

Freehand crop would be nice.

The app works as advertised, i would think having a pen would make editing simpler and more flexible/ efficient and more accurate in positioning within the screen.

I finally got myself a pair of KSO, the walking / running model for $75 USD. I strongly suggest you measure the exact length of your foot (instead of just relying on the standard size). You have to have a pretty tight fit, any wobbling will make the shoes uncomfortable to wear, especially when you try to run with it.

Samsung bluetooth HM3100

This headset came free as part of my purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S II mobile phone. The box came with three rubber tips, two plastic ear hinges, a HM3100 charger dongle and a micro usb charger.

Setting up the HM3100 with the Samsung Galaxy was a breeze. Simply enable bluetooth on the Galaxy, find the HM3100, pair it and that is it. On the headset itself, just press and hold the power button for 8 seconds.

Sound from the headset was kind of soft.  The other party was able to hear me very clearly, background sound was also clearly picked up.

Update: While I am not sure which WIFI/3G it uses when both are available, i am glad to let you know Skype over 3G gives very clear call quality. And judging from my 3G data count, it uses minimal data. now if and when it provides video call, my E72 will be complete.

The only minor complain I have (and this could be purely me) is, now that I have configured the middle portion of the Mouse to be the middle button, my finger needs to be a little more precise in position on the mouse for the left and right click.

I am glad I traded the D700 – though I have to pay a lot more for this beast….more to come as I explore into the functions and features.

I am glad Sony is continuing to keep the pace up and it is definitely on the right track. I previously reported that the Sony software (v3.0) did not work on my iMac despite many attempts. I am happy to report the new version 3.1 works perfectly, on the first attempt. I downloaded the software from the download page, install as instructed. The Sony software will restart your computer so please save any files you may have opened.

When the iMac rebooted, it automatically detected my PRS 600 and launched the eReader software. I was able to access to both the SD and MSDUO memory cards as well as the internal memory. Everything is working. Now all I have to do is find the books I want.
